Khamosh/Shriting Falls
Khamosh Waterfall (also known as Shriting Falls) resides within Hamzigon village, situated amidst Kharmang District in Gilgit-Baltistan's scenic landscape. This water attraction is accessible via road and can be visited during the summer months of June to August when it exhibits its most considerable display due to seasonal snowmelt runoff from surrounding Rocky Mountains. The falls, considered one among highest altitude in this region, cascades down an overhung rock face creating a striking spectacle for visitors as water droplets scatter and mist fills the air around it. To fully enjoy your visit here while protecting electronic equipment against moisture from such strong mists is advisable to prepare accordingly beforehand or delay exploration until conditions improve if necessary.

While the waterfall is often a day trip from Skardu, basic camping setups including tents and bedding can sometimes be arranged through local vendors at the nearby Manthokha Waterfall area.
Small bonfires and barbecues are popular and generally allowed in the surrounding meadows, provided you bring your own coal and ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving.
The area is quite safe for visitors, though you may encounter domestic cattle or goats grazing nearby; simply ensure your campsite is tidy to avoid attracting local birds or small animals.
The weather is typically mild and pleasant during the day from June to September, but the mist from the 60-meter falls can make the immediate camping area feel significantly cooler and damp.
Facilities are very limited at Shriting Falls itself, so it is best to use the restrooms at the more developed Manthokha Waterfall resort located about an hour's drive away.
