Ansoo Lake, translated as Teardrop Lake, lies in Kaghan Valley within Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and is accessible solely via a strenuous trek from either Saif-ul-Muluk Lake or Mahandri. The lake derives its name due to the tear drop shape it assumes during peak summer months, when ice melts sufficiently for this distinctive form to be visible. The best time to visit Ansoo is between July and August as these are considered ideal seasons that offer optimum views of water in a teardrop-like formation within its natural basin located in the valley's scenic landscape.
